Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

An ERP suite is essential for the successful run of any organization, regardless of its size and span. With an ERP suite your enterprise can easily automate and manage the daily back-office operations including accounting, procurement, supply chain, project management, risk management, compliance, etc., and even achieve performance assessment and financial monitoring. ERP is becoming indispensable for any small to big organization as it binds various business operations together and facilitates data flow among them.

Back in the 90s, most organizations had their ERP software deployed on on-premise servers which entailed capital investment for both hardware and software licenses, and additional costs for customization and training. Later, the ERP technology embraced the internet in new avatars with features and capabilities such as innate analytics. On-premise ERPs were meanwhile falling behind in terms of advanced security needs and compatibility with emerging technologies like smart devices.

With the advent of cloud technology, ERP software is rendered in SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) model in the cloud, wherein the software runs on a network of servers over the internet rather than the company’s server. The cloud service provider meets the requirements of patching, managing, and updating the software across the year, thereby mitigating both operational and capital expenses for the enterprise.

On-Premise ERP:
It is implemented and maintained within the organization’s infrastructure, hosted on the native computers and servers for complete control, support, and ownership of the entire software upon implementation.

Cloud-based ERP:
ERP is provided as a SaaS solution where the enterprise accesses and stores resources and data online, through a subscription with the cloud service provider. Cloud ERP could be public or private.
Public cloud ERP is suitable for quick ERP deployment. It dynamically manages and virtualizes the resources and offers standardized solutions that can be equally shared between multiple users.
Private cloud ERP provides resources exclusively dedicated to your enterprise in a privately owned architecture and the platform could be hosted or managed internally or using third-party platforms.

Hybrid ERP:
It includes a combined implementation of on-premise and cloudbased ERP solutions. Based on the provider, the combination of hosting and deployment services vary. The hybrid model allows users to easily switch between delivery models or achieve advantages that are unavailable in the existing implementation.

ERP MODULES:
ERP with a modular design lets enterprises meet their varying needs using a single ERP foundation. Enterprises can purchase the relevant modules based on their operations, challenges, and business model. Also, new modules can be seamlessly incorporated to meet new requirements that arise, rather than implementing a whole new ERP suite
